The NFL, Tax-Exempt Status, Football League Is Not a Nonprofit

Two Democratic senators have announced bills that would put this obvious farce to an end--

The NFL should lose its tax-exempt status: The league is not a “nonprofit.”: "The National Football League generates about $9.5 billion in revenue each year. It is, by Forbes’ estimate, the most valuable sports league in the world. Its commissioner, Roger Goodell, makes $44 million in a year. And yet, the NFL’s head office has long been allowed to operate as a tax-exempt nonprofit—as if its sole purpose for existence wasn’t to extract wads of cash from the wallets of American sports fans."
